The Outremer Spirit
For more than forty years, Outremer Yachting—founded in La Grande-Motte in 1984—has followed a clear and demanding philosophy: to design catamarans that sail before they impress, that cross oceans before decorating marinas, and that place freedom, reliability, and performance at the heart of every detail.
Outremer catamarans are built as true long-distance companions. They are chosen by sailors who value miles over appearances, sound engineering over fashion, and the confidence of a well-designed boat over unnecessary complexity. This philosophy has forged Outremer’s unique reputation among bluewater sailors and serious long-range cruisers.
The Outremer 51 concept
The Outremer 51 was designed in this very spirit. A direct successor to the Outremer 49—the first model of the new Grand Large Yachting era—the 51 pushes the balance between build quality, system integration, and long-term ownership even further.
Many owners consider it the sweet spot of the range: large enough to provide true liveaboard comfort, yet still light, responsive, and efficient under sail.
Fast without being extreme.
Powerful without being intimidating.
The perfect balance for a blue-water adventure, with speed and safety in mind.
