European brands compared to Australia brands

At the just-completed Auckland boat show, I was amazed to meet two visitors aboard the Absolute 48 Coupe who had previously owned an Azimut 46—a boat I originally sold to its first owner back in 2001. That was when we first started importing boats from Europe and became the Azimut dealers, introducing the brand to New Zealand.
Out of curiosity, I called the original owner, who has since moved on to an Australian brand, having wanted a bigger boat at the time. I asked him to give me an honest answer: which boat goes through the water better, his present boat or the Azimut? He replied, without hesitation, that the Azimut was superior, thanks to its better hull design. I am not making this up—that’s a genuine fact.
