I’ve got the Absolute 48 Coupé open, and I took a walk down the marina this morning looking at the different boats.

It really struck me how much boating has changed over the years.

Today, people want easy access, more sunshine, open living areas, fewer stairs and a boat that’s simply easy to move around. If there are stairs, they need to be gradual and comfortable. Some older designs really show their age when you look at them through that lens.

That’s one thing I think Absolute has got right. They’re leaders, not followers. They have designed their boats to match how people actually want to use a boat today.

Sometimes you only notice how important that is when you walk down a marina and compare.
