Memorable Day in Auckland with Clients

This week, I had the pleasure of hosting Canadian clients Frank and Mindy who were passing through Auckland. This amazing couple purchased a New Selene 60 Ocean Explorer in Canada during lock down and we did not actually meet until the boat was being delivered. My first contact with Frank was an email he sent me in 2021 about Selene. The entire process for the new build of the Selene 60 Ocean Explorer was via phone calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, and WeChat discussions with the Selene yard. All 3 parties were deeply involved in designing and building the boat, ensuring every detail was meticulously crafted. Frank and Mindy have been incredible throughout this journey, and adore their boat.

So it was with great pleasure that we could again connect as they passed through Auckland and an opportunity to not only connect on a professional level but also share some of our favourite local spots with them.

Our day began with a stroll around Westhaven Marina. The marina, known for its stunning views and bustling atmosphere, provided the perfect backdrop for conversations about the impressive capabilities of their new Selene 60 Ocean Explorer. The clients were genuinely fascinated by the range of yachts and the vibrant maritime community that characterizes Westhaven.

Next, we visited the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, a prestigious yachting institution with a rich history. The clients were impressed by the Squadron’s elegance and tradition. Walking through its halls and viewing the array of trophies and memorabilia gave them a deeper appreciation for New Zealand’s yachting prowess.

As midday approached, we made our way to Swashbucklers Restaurant & Bar, conveniently located next to our office. This cozy establishment, never fails to deliver when it comes to food and ambience. The clients were equally charmed by the restaurant’s maritime décor and the consistency of its menu, which has remained a staple for nearly three decades.

The clients left with a deep fondness for Auckland as a great backdrop for their new Selene 60 Ocean Explorer! Maybe in the future, travel to New Zealand in their boat will become a reality?
