The Azimut 62E Journey: A Memorable Sale and Adventure

Recollections of a Successful Yacht Deal and an Unexpected Wine Experience

An Unforgettable Transaction

In 2014, I sold an Azimut 62E to a Wellington client, marking a memorable as a yacht broker with an enjoyable experience to complete the deal. To finalise everything, I had made my way to the Varazze Marina—a stunning place on the coast, near Genoa.

A Special Gift for the Trip

Before heading to Varazze, I wanted to purchase a special gift for the vessel ‘Adelia’. On my way, I stopped by a local shop to buy some special wine, hoping it would be a fitting token for the occasion. Instead of receiving the wine in a traditional glass bottle, the shopkeeper filled a plastic bottle directly from a bowser. This unconventional packaging added a quirky twist to the journey, setting the stage for a unique experience.

A Ferry Ride and Sea Trial

After taking a ferry to Sardinia to complete another deal, I returned to Varazze, to complete a sea trial on the first boat. The trial went exceptionally well, and to celebrate, I shared the wine with my clients aboard. As mentioned, despite its humble container, the wine turned out to be amazingly good, enhancing a sense of accomplishment.

The Azimut 62E proved to be an outstanding vessel. To this day, the client continues to use the boat every year in Valencia, a testament to both the yacht’s quality and the buyer’s enduring satisfaction.

Reflections on a Remarkable Experience

Looking back, the sale of the Azimut 62E was more than just a successful business transaction—it was a journey filled with memorable moments, unexpected delights, and lasting relationships. From the shop with the bowser wine to the successful sea trial and the client’s ongoing enjoyment of the boat, every detail contributed to a story worth telling.
