Yachtfinders-Global is celebrating moving into its 28th year of operation as NZ’s oldest yacht brokerage under single ownership and management. Dealer Principal, Gary Erceg has always been a trailblazer for high-end imported motor yachts in New Zealand and has achieved many firsts.
The business has taken a few twists and turns over the years. Hong Kong was a hot destination for finding imports during the Asian Crisis. Then there were periods when many yachts were imported from the US. The importation of boats all around the world has long been a specialty.
Absolute and Selene yachts
The current focus is on the dealerships for the Absolute range of motor yachts out of Italy and the Selene range of ocean trawlers out of China. Yachtfinders Global is also a 24/7 globally connected brokerage dealing in second-hand boats.
“Oddly, to sell large yachts over the years, I’ve had to clock up over 2 million air miles”, said Erceg. “The travel side of the yacht brokerage business has been one of our favourite parts. We have built an excellent worldwide network of specialists over the years, making importing boats pleasurable and easy”.
